Memphis (Tenn.)
Description
A letter from the Chairman of the Board of Plough, Inc., written to Mr. Sam Schwab to congratulate him on the continued success of the business.
The contents of the letter are as follows:
"Dear Mr. Schwab:
It pleased me very much to read the page ad in yesterday's Commercial Appeal regarding the business which you took over from your father. It took me back fifty-eight years to the time I bought Battier's Drug Store and Battier's Drugstore adn A. Schwab were the two best businesses on the street,
I think you have a right to feel good to know that you have carried on and kept the doors open, and your father would indeed be proud of you in the light of what has gone up and down the street over the years. More than anything else, you have maintained a good reputation and every father is proud to know he has a good son.
I am pleased to write you this letter and congratulate you on being able to do such a good job to keep your doors open and make a profit under all the conditions that have existed on Beale Street.
Sincereley,
[ ? Plough]
