Description An account of the resource The Harahan Bridge, named in honor of the former Illinois Central Railroad executive James Theodore Harahan, is a cantilevered through truss bridge that carried two rail lines across the Mississippi River between West Memphis, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee. The bridge was owned an operated by the Union Pacific Railroad. In addition to the two rail lines the bridge was built with roadways on the sides of the main structure to support vehicular traffic.
